An interdisciplinary center to bring together the arts and sciences into a unique ecosystem, to imagine and design desirable universes, whether real or virtual.
SPIRAL - Interdisciplinary Center Science, People, Imagination, Research, Art, all Linked!

Presentation

The omnipresence of digital technologies and the emergence of collaborative practices have transformed our ways of life, bringing both advancements and challenges. High-potential fields of innovation, such as design and usage , creative AI, the metaverse, augmented reality, and video games, are paving the way for a major digital disruption. We are convinced that a hybrid approach, combining science and the arts, is essential to anticipate these scientific, economic, and societal challenges.

Created on June 21, 2022, the SPIRAL interdisciplinary center at the Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) is dedicated to imagining real and digital worlds, serving the creation and production of cultural and creative content. By bringing together artists, researchers, and students engaged in a research-creation process, SPIRAL aims to advance both technological and societal challenges simultaneously.
