DaTSHealth: Training Program
The healthcare sector is undergoing profound transformation with the rise of digital technologies that generate ever-growing volumes of data. Harnessing, analyzing, and managing this data has become a critical challenge for stakeholders across the ecosystem, including industry, universities, and hospitals.
The DaTSHealth program addresses this need by offering a transdisciplinary education in digital health centered on the understanding and effective use of health data.
The curriculum is built around an interdisciplinary approach that reflects the full health value chain — from data acquisition and storage to processing, analysis, and value creation.
Beyond technical expertise, the program equips students with a strong understanding of the organizational, ethical, and societal implications of digital health. Its goal is to train professionals who can operate at the intersection of technological innovation and societal impact.
The program spans Master’s level 1, Master’s level 2, and PhD studies. The Master 2 in Biomedical Data Science and Applications forms the core of the curriculum, with courses in:
- Biomedical data sources and collection,
- Data preparation and workflow management,
- Machine learning, deep learning, and graph-based approaches,
- Study design and innovation in artificial intelligence,
- Digital health research project.
The curriculum concludes with a 6-month research internship in an academic laboratory, hospital, or company, culminating in a thesis and defense.
